Biography
Dr. Francis T. Omigbodun is a highly accomplished mechanical and manufacturing engineer, researcher, and innovator based in Birmingham, UK. With a PhD in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering from Loughborough University, an MSc in Mechatronic Engineering (Distinction) from De Montfort University, and a BEng in Mechatronics Engineering from Afe Babalola University, Dr. Omigbodun has consistently demonstrated excellence in academia and industry.
As the Director of Research and Development at FTAO Limited, Dr. Omigbodun leads technical strategies, develops innovative solutions in additive manufacturing, and drives market expansion through cutting-edge technology. His expertise includes crafting technology roadmaps, advancing polymer processes, and promoting sustainability through circular economy and recycling initiatives.
Dr. Omigbodun’s research interests encompass sustainable healthcare solutions, net-zero energy systems, and advanced additive manufacturing for medical and industrial applications. His extensive body of work has been published in high-impact journals and has earned over 540 citations, reflecting his influence and thought leadership in the field.
He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce (FRSA). A Chartered Engineer and active member of several professional societies, including the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Dr. Omigbodun has received numerous accolades, such as the Best Project/Dissertation Award and recognition for his contributions to impactful research.
