Biography
Degree in Biological Sciences from the Faculty of Education of Porto Velho (2004), master’s degree in Experimental Biology at the University of Rondônia (2008) and Ph.D. in Experimental Biology at the Federal University of Rondônia (2013). I have experience in the areas of Parasitology and Entomology with an emphasis on Malacology of Parasites and Vectors, with specialties in: Molecular biology of tropical disease vectors, simian malaria and human malaria, Parasite and vector interaction, microbiota, screening drugs. As Principal Investigator or Co-investigator on some local and internationally funded grants, I established the first free mating colony of Anopheles darlingi in Brazil as a platform for production and infection of mosquitoes to study parasite-vector relationships and currently, I am trying to establish a P. vivax liver stage drug assay (LSA) with funding from the Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) and PPSUS.
